CCuriosity and passion combined with great intelligence, strength and courage can give excellent and even surprising results. This is what I tell myself every time I meet Andrea Cusumano and observe his work, as a doctor, as a scientist and as a great lover of life.

Only a great passion for life, his own and that of others, can in fact push a person to work at such a fast pace, always with the utmost professionalism and - perhaps even more extraordinary - with inexhaustible energy and enthusiasm. Non-profit association dedicated in particular to the research and dissemination of new futuristic therapies and surgical techniques in the field of retinal diseases. In this direction, the Foundation promotes and organizes every year the "Macula Today", a non-sponsored conference completely free from economic and industrial interests, where "giants" of international research from all continents put their ingenuity and their knowledge available to patients, their families, ophthalmologists, researchers, science journalists and industry authorities to help those who have already lost their vision and to prevent this from happening in those who are genetically predestined to lose it. For several years I have had the pleasure of presenting the "Macula Today" conference in Rome and this appointment has become even for me, who have always lived the world of medicine and research, an unmissable and always amazing opportunity for exchange and knowledge, which it satisfies me and encourages me to always do better for patients and for my audience.
